Overview
The Eldritch Overseer
The Lab’s industrial sector produces simulants and other products with extreme efficiency and low human supervision. To keep it this way, advanced maintenance drones were put in charge of monitoring and swiftly repairing any faults in the production lines within each “block” of the Lab. By commanding incredibly flexible, malleable appendages implemented into every surface of the lab, it can navigate deep into complex machinery and obstructed corners.
As expected, Kothar Deep Earth has it double as a security bot. They’ve kitted each ‘tentacle’ with military-grade hydraulics and repair glue that doubles as restraining fluid. They’re highly effective at restricting the area to authorised persons only… as long as the main drone remains operational.
Character Design Requirements
Themed around tentacles and cephalopods, this character should lean into flowy, fluid patterns while still being believably mechanical.
Main Body:
- The Technician’s main body is a small, flying drone
- It’s “face” is a giant camera lens that looks like an eye (see below)
- It has two thrusters on either side of itself

Gameplay
Technician summons tentacles to the field to fight for it. The tentacles don’t move, but have great control of the immediate area around it, making it important for players to take them down before attempting to approach the main unit.
- The battle starts with two tentacles already spawned nearby the main body.
- The main body always acts first.
- There is a maximum amount of tentacles that may be summoned at once. (Make this 5 for now, but allow Design to tweak.)
- A tentacle will not act if it was spawned this turn.
Strengths
- Strong control of the whole map
- Strong defense when nearby summoned tentacles
- Effectively gets as many actions as there are tentacles on the map
- Fast movement
Weaknesses
- No attacks of its own
- No other forms of self defence
Health
- 280 health
