- Kothar Deep Earth incorporated as a mining company.
- 1977
- Plutus mine disaster kills 1,767 people due to a coal dust explosion. The resulting fire was ultimately contained by sealing the mine. Workers still trapped inside the mine after it was sealed are presumed deceased. This event lead to a series of strict regulation, reformed industry standards, and improved emergency planning. A greater focus on company accountability to ensure labourer health and safety rules is observed.
- 1995
- Trinity Weapons Systems and Sky Aerospace merge to form Trinity Sky, the worlds largest weapons manufacturer and military contractor. They become the supplier of many world governments, and through black market and third party channels, other organisations such as corporations and terrorist cells. Military technology begins to develop at an exponential rate.
- 1999
- Trinity Sky are the first to land a maned rocket on the planet Mars. Anthropos Hoplon become the first person to walk on Mars. Displaying Trinity Sky’s scientific and technological prowess over other corporations and nations. The settlement of Mars set the stage for the future colonisation of the solar system, with the hopes of settling more planets to offload the overcrowding population on Earth.
- 2025
- A domino effect of failing banks leads to many of the world’s governments defaulting on their loans, leading to the beginning of the Second Great Depression. Global birth rates collapse and many global economies slip from developed to developing status. The World Bank dissolves, and many countries are bailed out by corporations which assume control of all of their assets.
- 2027
- The President of the Republic of the Southern Cross declares war on Trinity Sky following their acquisition of disputed territory in South East Asia. The president is assassinated the following day. The country scrambles to clean up the mess, but is now considered a “Hostile Creditor” by the International Corporate Trust, which sees the nation’s credit rating demoted to Class E. With Class E credit, the nation is no longer able to take loans from any corporation, and the economy collapses. The nation is purchased by Kothar Deep Earth.
- 2040
- Trinity Sky embarks on the first interplanetary mining operation to extract resources on other planets.
- 2046
- 2049
- After several years of mining Tritanite for other companies to use in the creation of various pieces of cyberware, KDE opens it’s own research and development laboratory with the goal of creating technology to greater improve mining efficiency. Their laboratory is the first to develop a Tritanite powered remote automata - now known as a Simulant.
- 2050
- Implementing Tritanite as a highly efficient energy source, Trinity Sky created the first commercially viable interplanetary travel service, allowing humanity to migrate to other planets as well making their mining operations on other planets even more efficient. This breakthrough massively helps with Earth’s overpopulation and resource scarcity problems.
- 2052
- Simulants have started to be integrated into the workforce, replacing the generally low skill jobs. This ultimately cements simulants as a force in society. Members of the working class grow increasingly hostile to the presence of ASIMs due to a sharp rise in unemployment.
- Resonance Inc patents and launches a line of simulant pop stars which use Vocaloid voice banks. One particular model dwarfs the others in popularity. They produce and maintain a fleet of this specific idol, which all operate from a central repository of experience and knowledge.
- 2055
- A cold war between Trinity Sky and KDE begins as new Tritanite deposits becomes scarce. Utilisation of simulant spies for the purposes of corporate espionage and sabotage becomes wide spread. The resulting paranoia leads to both corporations investing more heavily in weapons R&D.
- 2056
- Kothar Deep Earth creates the world’s first combat simulants, which they begin to mass produce, building a simulant army under the guise of “Peace Keepers”.
- 2057
- The last identified Tritanite deposit is completely exhausted. Approximately 260 ktU was removed from the earth in a little over a month using a combination of In-situ, blast, and auger mining. Following this, large scale surveying of the deep sea scales up massively, with a large deposit located in the pacific ocean by KDE.
- 2058
- Kothar Deep Earth constructs a small island at the furthest reaches of its territory in the former Republic of The Southern Cross. This island is built atop of the previously identified Tritanite deposit, and a mine is constructed there immediately. The new settlement is named New Damascus.
- 2059
- Following the rapid scale-up of mining operations in New Damascus, The Pit is deemed uninhabitable due to toxic chemicals in the air, soil and water. All KDE personnel are ordered to evacuate immediately.
- 2061
- Many simulants produced in the industrial parts of New Damascus suddenly and simultaneously become aggressive and violent. A large scale conflict breaks out where 60% of human miners are killed. The survivors are forced to flee to The Pit. It takes a few days for the city’s military to destroy affected simulant models, but they don’t bother looking for any survivors. Due the quarantine imposed on the The Pit, humans are unable to leave. Simulant production is relocated to the newly built Lab. The event is remembered as The First ASIM Massacre.
