An Enemy. Introduced in District 1 - The Pit.

Overview

KSD-05. Kothar Simulant, Drill, Version 5.

Before KDE took over, drills were originally designed by people in the mining industry to efficiently create paths for mining underground with programmed patterns, reaching towards caverns and places that were too dangerous for humans to reach. When KDE rose into power, they modified their design for dual purposes:

  1. Used for mining tritium at the Terminal. Originally used to mine in the area that is now called the Wastes. Drills are a part of the reason for the extreme mining made in the wastes, making it unable to collect water.
  2. Used for military purposes in the Menagerie. It is common for drills to be found hiding underground in the Menagerie to attack any residents that are not behaving accordingly.

Character Design Requirements

The Drill Simulant has large, upside down triangular body. It’s “head” is a small dome that houses a red glowing “eye”. On top of its head is a floodlight - similar to a miners hard hat. Both hands are enormous drills. The Simulant has no legs, instead it is mounted on two large tank treads. The machine is covered in grime, a dark orange colour that has been discoloured over time.

Gameplay

Medium-high health, medium damage, slow speed, close range unless enemies are adjacent to a wall, destructive, bruiser, slows units.

Health

This unit is tanky so it will start with 125 HP.
