The First Section of the Game
The Pit is located in the heart of the city, it provides resources to every facility located within The Wall. The Pit is an enormous quarry set up to mine a variety resources, but its main export is Tritanite - a key resource required to construct Simulants. The people that live here are the poorest in society and most of the labour is conducted by Simulants due to the hostile conditions. It is common to see Simulants that work the mine return to the The Menagerie missing pieces or with burns from the corrosive environment. The air in The Pit is a thick, putrid smog - a result of the chemicals used to mine the quarry. Acid rain relentlessly pours from the sky. The Pit is home to three sub-areas, The Menagerie, The Bazaar, and The Terminal. All structures built in The Pit, with the exception of The Terminal, are of a haphazard construction. These structures were built out of whatever materials were available at the time, with no clear planning or attention paid to design. As such, wiring and plumbing dangle from the ceilings, and cramped corridors serve as the only thoroughfares through this area. All structures here are covered in a thick layer of grime and corrosion, especially prominent on anything built from concrete or metal.

Part 1 - The Menagerie
The Residential District of The Pit
Located in the west of The Pit, The Menagerie provides housing for the lowest class of society. Originally set up as housing for the mining outpost, as mining continued its expansion was limited due to the wall of the quarry - forcing it to extend further and further down. The area adopted the name “The Menagerie” due to being surrounded by the rich Districts which look down and into the encampment.

Part 2 - The Bazaar
The Shopping District of The Menagerie
A cluttered down-town with shops lining every street and alleyway. These shops are small stands with items hanging off every part and scattered on the ground in front of each of them. Everything you can imagine can be bought here, from cybernetic augmentations, to food, to drugs and everything in between. The government turns a blind eye to much of what happens in the Bazaar, the internal messaging being that they believe localising the inevitable black market prevents it from spreading to the rest of the city.

Part 3 - The Terminal
The Resource Lift
Due to the hazardous conditions of The Pit, all mining exports from The Pit are required to be deposited onto an enormous cargo elevator that then brings the resources up and out of the quarry and into the inland port. From there, Simulants remove the goods, and deposit them into trucks that transport them to District 2 - The Wastes.
